Leicester's Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) was part of Historic England's national High Street Heritage Action Zone programme, a grant scheme that supported high street renovation and revitalisation across England. Leicester City Council was awarded £2 million to repair and restore historic shopfronts and buildings along Granby Street and Church Gate.

I was commissioned by Seed Creativity to create four original line drawings of Leicester buildings, along with drawings for a short animation featuring the Grand Hotel, to be included as part of the brand communications for the project.

Working from photographic reference, I drew the buildings in ink using a lightbox. I produced sample layouts and mock-ups early on, which were used by Seed Creativity to review how the artwork could work within the wider campaign. The final illustrations were then incorporated into the wider HAZ campaign using brand colour backgrounds, and used on banners on buildings, promotional material and a promotional video.
